Ylang ylang (Cananga odorata) is a fast-growing tree and can be found natively in tropical Asia such as Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia. The common name in Thailand is Kradang Nga. This plant has been well–known for its fragrant flowers, the pleasant scent has been used widely in the perfume industry, food, and aromatherapy.
Most widely used is the essential oils derived from the flower of the ylang-ylang plant. The fragrant has been described to possess a medium to strong initial aroma with fresh, floral, slightly fruity fragrant yet delicate. Furthermore, the flower is also described to produce an intensely sweet scent that is similar to jasmine.
