Sandalwood Incense Finishing Powder – Australia (Santalum spicatum)

$8.95$69.45

Sandalwood Incense Finishing Powder – Australia is the same grade as the incense powder, just a finer particle, similar consistency to talcum powder. It is too fine to use in making incense cones, as they need some space for the oxygen to help with burning and this one becomes like a paste when wet. Unless it is blended with the sawdust or agarwood spent charge, or something to allow oxygen to pass through when burning or it wont burn to the bottom. It can be used to roll incense in when making to coat the outside so that when the incense is lit the sandalwood aroma is still present. Produces a lot of smoke if burned on its own as described for the other powders, so we suggest if burning like this to make sure it is a well ventilated area.

Description

Australian Sandalwood.

Sandalwood has been used as a holy incense since the beginning of time. Early on, people observed that Sandalwood was never attacked by termites, which may have led to its reputation as a protective wood. The scent is believed to be one of the most pleasing to the gods. It is believed to have cooling and soothing properties, and to direct one’s attention toward the divine realms. It is popular in blended incense and combines well with the sacred resins Frankincense and Myrrh.
